TERM 1 2010

The children have settled down very quickly after the summer break. We are pleased to welcome Jed Jabagat to Room 1. Jed has recently arrived in the country from the Philippines and doesn't speak English yet but I am sure that all his classmates will help him learn the language. We swim on Monday , Tuesday and Friday.

We have been focusing on what they need to do to be "sunsmart",  and why it is important to protect themselves, particularly during their swimming sessions. Last term many of them wore wetsuits or "rash" tops to protect their backs and shoulders but this term a few seem to have "forgotten" to pack them in their bags. Please could you remind your children to bring them to school.

As part of their Inquiry Learning the children in Room 1 have been experimenting with mixing the primary colours red, blue and green paint and also with black and white paint to make other colours. The very colourful results can be seen on our classroom wall.
